Objective:
The Logistics – Shipping/Receiving Manager is a proven leader who is responsible for the implementation and execution of our client's processes and procedures. Shipping/Receiving Manager successfully leads, oversees and manages logistics, shipping, receiving and warehousing for the entire company. The Logistics Shipping and Receiving Manager is responsible for the efficient planning, scheduling and coordinating of the delivery and receipt of products and goods that are essential to the success of our client. Shipping and Receiving is responsible for delivering the right product at the right time at the right place at the agreed upon costs every time with the goal being that of total Customer satisfaction.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Leader, mentor, manager and guide to the entire shipping and receiving process and all those associated with the shipping and receiving department.

Lead, oversee, manage, and direct shipping and logistics employees; assign duties; examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policy and procedures.

Identify employee’s skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.

Continuously build a team across all disciplines associated with Shipping and Receiving including but not limited to Forklift Drivers, Warehouse Workers, Inventory Specialists, etc.

Maintain procedures and ensure full compliance of the regulations governing the movement of goods.

Reconcile inventory results on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
-
Leverage and implement best practices driving continuous inventory improvements.
-
Validates shipment, receipt, and invoices for all product received and shipped.

Develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
-
Deliver timely communications on all issues including shipments, deliveries, equipment/service needs.

Keep current on the transportation management system’s abilities/shortcomings.

Manage all aspects of warehousing.

Maintain all record keeping utilizing the company’s data bases and systems.

Implement, support, and maintain operational procedures.
-
Work with other departments – production, customer service, purchasing, and fulfillment to ensure coordination of all activities.

Direct and lead team to ensure shipments are received into inventory and processed per company standards; ensures proper inventory management.

Work with Customer Service to maintain adequate inventory levels.

Provide regular reporting to the Plant Manager on logistics issues.

Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.

Process weekly payroll; ensure records are accurate and aligned with company policies regarding overtime, sick time and vacation time.

Forklift, Fleet and Driver Management

Maintain DOT files. Ensure DOT compliance by regularly checking and updating driver’s files.

Oversee fleet maintenance initiatives – trucks and forklifts.

Manage and oversee off site delivery drivers; ensure service standards are maintained; resolve customer issues.

Conduct annual forklift training; provide training records to Human Resources

Maintain a safe working environment in the shipping/receiving area.
Experience and Qualifications Required:

Proven leadership and mentoring abilities in which employees are willing to follow.

Minimum 5 years experience as a Logistics Manager and Leader in fast paced manufacturing environment.

Experience in the corrugated packaging industry is helpful and preferred.

High School Diploma.
